 I made this Valentine's Day Chap Stick holder for our Etsy shop. It was so simple and I only used a small amount of cotton yarn. I added a few small buttons... I think it's super cute!! Thank you Ginny for this weeks yarn along.

So what have I been creating? I have been working on my cowls this week. I made this Long Hooded Cowl I had so much fun crocheting this. I really love it I almost wanted to keep it for myself. If I fine the time I am going to make me one for this winter. I don't usually wear hats so this would be great for me. I just finished two more cowls but I haven't had time to take pictures of them ..maybe today?

I can't wait to see what everyone is creating!!

It is so good to be with you during this weeks yarn along. I have been keeping busy crocheting for my Etsy shop. I have also been crocheting these colorful cotton coasters. It has been well up in the 80's almost too hot to crochet outdoors with Wool or Acrylic but with this soft cotton and with these being a little smaller than my scarves they have been a lot of fun to crochet.

First Sock And Crocheted 18 In Doll Granny Square Blanket

It is so good to be with you during this weeks yarn along. I am still working on my sock...look at all those needles. I finished my gusset which probably isn't perfect but I am still very proud of it. I sort of wish I would have just knitted a plain sock without  the knit and purl rows on top ... I am sure I would have been finish by now but the top row is taking me so long. I feel like I am actually getting the hang of the double pointed needles. I am not sure if I am ready to do a whole sock with them just yet.

I am still filling up our Etsy shop with my doll blankets. I bought some new yarn this weekend..so there will be many more blankets crocheted up very soon.

I have been having a lot of fun sitting and making Granny squares while listening to my pod casts. I didn't find much time to work on my sock..but I did turn the heel which I am very proud of. :)

My First Knit Sock In The Round Yarn Along 106

My First  Knit Sock In The Round Sock

It is so good to be with you during this weeks yarn along.

I spent most of my week reading and re-reading on how to make a sock. I decided to just go for it.. and that is what I would like to share this week. This sad little sock is not perfect and I am not sure if I completely like it..but it is a sock never the less. I am still slowly learning the anatomy of a sock.

I decided to go with the band heel because there is no gusset to worry about and that meant less thinking and more knitting. I decided to go with the star toe which I didn't really like and will not do next time.

I really like the yarn I used which is Deborah Norville Serenity  50% Merino Wool, 25% Rayon made with Bamboo and  25% Nylon. The sock is so warm and cozy. I am really excited to make a real pair with this yarn. I don't have enough yarn to make another long leg sock....so I have decided to use the rest of the yarn to make a ankle length sock for more practice:) I bought a skein of Patons Kroy which is 75% Wool and 25% Nylon. This I hope will make a nice pair of socks..but not until after I have one more practice of making a good heel and a toe:)

Crocheted Doily Yarn Along 105

Crocheted Doily

So good to be with you during this weeks yarn along.

I am still working on my hooded cowl. It probably will be a while before it is finished.  I needed a doily for one of my tables so I crocheted one up real quick only took about an hour. I received this cross stitch kit from a very good friend. I have been spending my Sunday afternoons working on it..I am loving it! Out of the blue I decided to cast on a wrist warmer on Monday. It is the first time I have ever made one in the round. I am using  my 9 inch cord... I am slowly getting used to it.  I still really want to learn to make a pair of socks in the round...so these wrist warmers are really helping me practice getting the hang of them.

Knit  Wurm Hat

So glad to be with you during this weeks yarn along. I finished my Wurm hat which I really love. I started knitting it  flat and then towards the end finished it in the round. I really love the finish look. I am still working on my cowl...hope to have it finished next week. I am itching to cast on something new..just don't know what yet. I haven't worked on my Granny Square blanket this week.  I am still reading A Book Thief  I am over half way finished and loving it!!! I have been reading a little each night..I wish I could find a little time during the day:)

I am still working on my Wurm Hat just a few more days and I should be finished. I have enjoyed making this hat and I can't wait to show it to you. I love the slow pace of my knitting lately trying not to rush...just enjoying having something to keep my hands busy in the evening I knit a few rows each night...loving it!
